Job Description:
The Web-Focused Graphic Designer is a member of the Centralized Communications and Strategy Development team, reporting to the Director of Creative Services. This role is a contributor to the creative team’s vision and strategy, responsible for conceptualizing and executing high-quality creative design work, with particular focus on web design and development, in coordination with the department’s initiatives to support PHMC and its family of programs and subsidiaries. The Designer interacts closely with a multi-disciplinary team, including the Communications, Strategy Development team and IT teams. The Designer is responsible for delivering high-quality graphic design work that is on-brand, on-budget and on-time, meeting the organization and client’s needs. In addition, this role, as directed and as needed, may coordinate external creative partners, vendors or interns.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute design deliverables across a variety of mediums, ranging from print and digital marketing collateral, logos, presentations and websites.
  • Particular focus on the Creative team’s website development projects – from concept generation to creative execution.
  • In alignment with brand standards, client needs and IT security protocols.
  • Works closely with Creative Team and Web Administrator on PHMC portfolio of 25+ websites and landing pages
  • Contribute to content and brand consistency, and UX design across Joomla Multi-Site platform Maintain responsive design.
  • Stay up to date on the web’s latest technologies and make sure all sites and their products are always mobile-friendly and multi-platform ready.
  • Plan for future changes to websites following change management protocols and business requirements documentation.
  • Contribute to PHMC’s brand strategy and consistently apply the brand across PHMC’s family of programs and subsidiaries.
  • Work collaboratively with account services to anticipate and meet client needs.

Support a high standard of visual execution across all multi-medium channels and campaigns, including but not limited to:

  • PHMC’s internal and external channels
  • Program/subsidiary marketing communications work
  • As directed and as needed, coordinate activities with external creative partners, vendors or interns.
  • Present and defend designs and key deliverables to peers and clients.
  • Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices and standards.


Qualifications:

  • Excellent graphic, web development and interactive design skills, including UX design.
  • Sound creative processes, judgment and execution.
  • Ability to drive to consistency and standards across a brand family.
  • Ability to conceptualize, design, develop, troubleshoot and maintain websites.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team and multiple departments.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once with attention to detail, meeting client needs with a quality work product that is on-time and on-budget.
  • Self-starter; ability to take and lead projects independently while following direction and vision.

Experience:

  • At least three to five years of experience in creative design, web development and application across multiple mediums.
  • Strong, demonstrated knowledge of graphic and interactive design principles, including UX design.
  • Experience working with content management systems, specifically Joomla.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Cloud suite of products, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat Pro, Fireworks, Dreamweaver, use of CSS/HTML and Microsoft Office.

Education Requirement:

Bachelor’s in Design or related degree.
