About Diversity & Inclusion

Our committee works to encourage diversity in design education, discourse, and practice to strengthen and expand the relevance of design in all areas of society. We aim to take a comprehensive approach, considering race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, ability and disability, age, and other factors that shape creative perspective and professional experience. Our fantastic group of dynamic volunteers organizes a variety of events throughout the year including hands-on workshops, panel discussions, happy hours, talks, exhibitions, and more. Through these events, we strive to celebrate a diverse array of designers, cultivate greater opportunity, awareness of diversity issues, and inclusive design cultures, and connect with designers at all points in their careers to support a broader range of future practitioners and leaders.
