Job Summary:

The Graphic Designer, as part of our Design Department, supports all marketing efforts through the design of forward thinking, creative graphic elements that maintains the Philadelphia Sixers as a world-class brand across both traditional and interactive mediums. The mediums include brand campaign assets, ticket sales material, print, OOH, in-stadium signage, direct mail, digital content, logos, etc. In addition to these projects, this position will also be focused on supporting the Corporate Partnership team with creating sales and activation pitches/presentations for sponsors. The Designer must be a team player who can balance creativity and tight deadlines in our fast-paced environment. Hard work, a positive attitude and dedication are essential to this position.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Designs original creative elements
  • Adapts design elements to carry out the continuity of the Sixers brands throughout all collateral
  • Assists Corporate Partnerships Team in finding creative ways to sell an idea through mockups & presentations
  • Participates in design projects to include: ticket sales material (fliers, graphics, direct mail), advertising (digital ads, OOH), in-arena graphics, promotional items, internal communication pieces and presentations, program logos
  • Collaborates with digital marketing to create e-mail and web graphic layouts and design
  • Assists with conceptualizing and building custom creative concepts for sales pitches and client presentations
  • Creates templates and builds presentations for executive reports and meetings
  • Proofs all materials in an accurate manner, delivering high-quality, on-time and error-free drafts
  • Conceptualize and build custom creative concepts for sales pitches and client presentations
  • Research printing and packaging options in conjunction with marketing department
  • Serve as a brand ambassador in regards to logo usage and graphic standards
  • Maintains ongoing internal communication with key partners via e-mail and phone calls as needed
  • Suggests new ideas for improvement and thinks outside of the box
  • Communicates with outside print vendors, relaying specifications for production
  • Works on multiple design projects at any given time and execute in a timely fashion
  • Assists in maintaining and establishing design department policies
  • Other duties as assigned by the Marketing department

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in graphic design
  • Two to five years of graphic design experience preferably from a design or advertising agency or sports and entertainment entity
  • Competency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator)
  • Knowledge of AfterEffects and flash is a plus
  • Solid design sense; thorough understanding of design theory including principles such as color, typography and composition
  • Competency with DSL Cameras and Photo Manipulation
  • Knowledge of print production and the pre-press process
  • Familiarity with social media and digital user experience design
  • Experience with client relationships, understanding client needs and meeting deadlines
  • Experience working collaboratively across multiple departments
  • Experience and passion for sports and/or entertainment preferred
  • Ability to work nights and weekends as needed
  • Ability to work from our headquarters in The Navy Yard in South Philadelphia. Public transportation is available.
