Job Description:
Neff is looking for a 3-6 month temporary, full-time web designer. As part of the creative department, this designer will help drive the user experience and web process, working as a problem solver with other design and development team members, as well as clients, to develop strategies and create a complete web experience. They will provide web recommendations based on an analysis of current and potential web experiences across all channels. This designer will also be executing visual and strategic design stages, from planning to completion, in collaboration with other members of the web team, including designers and developers. The individual in this role will also be working with the design team to create and execute other interactive assets such as motion graphics videos, interactive mockups and animated pieces.

Responsibilities

  • Executing all stages of the website design process from initial concept to final development hand-off. These projects will span across all industries and for clients of all sizes
  • WordPress template implementation, including minor CSS and HTML edits
  • Creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, and site maps
  • In collaboration with the design team, conceptualizing original responsive website design solutions that incorporate simplicity and modern usability
  • Designing and incorporating website functionalities and interactive features into design mockups
  • Communicating with clients throughout the project process from kickoff to post-launch support
  • Collaborating effectively with the development team to ensure accurate execution of designs
  • Taking projects through the stages of concept, execution and completion within relatively short deadlines
  • Assisting in the creation of videos, interactive mockups and animated pieces
  • Writing and editing website content
  • Presenting and defending research findings, ideas, designs, and key deliverables to peers and clients
  • Leading and participating in creative brainstorming sessions
  • Establishing and promoting design guidelines, best practices and standards
  • Researching, investigating and providing insights into user experience best practices and competitor experiences
  • Staying organized and adhering to a regular 9am – 5pm schedule, but willing to work overtime when needed, in the case of a tight deadline
  • When appropriate, assisting in the concept and design stages of branding and advertising projects

Qualifications

  • 2 – 4 years of experience in an agency or design firm
  • Strong knowledge of WordPress template implementation
  • Ability to take ownership of new projects as well as projects that have already been started
  • Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio and proven work as a web designer
  • Solid experience in creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, and site maps
  • Strong knowledge of graphic design principles
  • Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (including Illustrator, XD, After Effects, Photoshop, and InDesign)
  • Sensitivity to user-system interaction and designing for the user experience
  • Must have superior communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Highly organized, creative and self-motivated
  • Adaptable and willing to learn new techniques
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and balance multiple simultaneous projects
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail required
  • Skills in video production and animation preferred
  • Knowledge in motion graphics software such as Premiere, Final Cut Pro, and -Adobe Animate is a plus but not required
  • General understanding of HTML and CSS is a plus but not required
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as web design, multimedia or interactive design
