Job Description

The National MS Society Greater Delaware Valley Chapter is seeking a Graphic Designer to join the Communications team. The Graphic Designer produces and coordinates strategic branding, marketing, and communications initiatives for the National MS Society Greater Delaware Valley Chapter. This includes providing high-volume graphic design services, updating the Chapter website and using a wide range of tools (print and electronic) to reach strategic markets and enable to the Chapter to effectively and efficiently communicate its mission and promote its programs, services and events. This individual must be comfortable working with chapter staff at all levels. Collaboration, organization and time management skills are key to success in this position.

This is a full-time non-exempt position.

Responsibilities:

Produces, coordinates and oversee the production of all collateral materials, including but not limited to, brochures, Web graphics, Power Point presentations, post cards, invitations, signage and other communication vehicles that are consistent with the organization’s standards for consistency and quality of both copy and design

Working with the digital marketing coordinator, the graphic designer will make updates to the website, working creatively to keep it fresh, accurate and compelling

Collaborates with Communications Manager and Chapter staff to markets programs and events to appropriate audiences and drive increased participation

Serves as a liaison between Chapter staff and production vendors to manage the bidding process and fabrication of all Chapter marketing materials ensuring projects stay on time and within budget

Works with Communications Manager and all Chapter departments to identify and track marketing needs and maintain a weekly production schedule

Assists with the creation and production of advertising campaigns

Manages, organizes, and archives Chapter photos, logos and other assets as needed for the Chapter

Establishes relationships with and processes invoices with vendors

Provides marketing support to project teams across the Chapter

Administrative duties:

Oversees and manages photo archiving and publishing of pictures to media sites, includes but not limited to Shutterfly, Facebook, Twitter, etc.

Maintains accurate, organized, and centralized records for the MarComm dept.

Works with finance staff to process invoices for vendors

Brand Management

Ensures that all program and development materials and communications adhere to verbal and visual brand guidelines and standards

Consults and utilizes resources available through Chapter and National Office to ensure the accuracy of collateral, presentation materials, etc.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education

At least 3 years of graphic design experience or equivalent education and experience in related field
Associate Degree in graphic design required, Bachelor’s degree in Graphic design or Communications preferred

Experience

Three to five years of graphic design experience. Background in communications, graphic design or marketing. Experience in marketing/communications for non-profits a plus.

Experience in strategic communication initiatives, including those related to social media, web marketing, e-mail, direct mail, events, publications, advertising, etc.

Technical

Strong computer aptitude with specific skills in Abobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator using both PC and MAC platforms. Basic Knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, Publisher, Power Point and Outlook required

Knowledge of traditional print procedures, pricing and practices as well as knowledge and experience with web content management systems and HTML. Additional web development experience a plus

Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage multiple projects and timelines

Ability to work with a team in a fast-paced environment and ability to work with staff members at all levels essential

Ability to work independently to plan and organize, using professional judgment and initiative. Exceptionally self-motivated

Demonstrated ability to keep print projects on time and within budget. Ability to organize, prioritize, manage, and successfully execute multiple assignments simultaneously

Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong editing skills a plus

Highly visual with strong layout and design skills

Ability to positively represent the Chapter in the community at large

Good interpersonal and negotiation skills

Salary and Benefits Information:

This is a full time (35 hours per week), non-exempt position with a full benefits package.
