Summary
As a senior designer, you’ll work alongside our managing directors and copywriters, working in an open pool working with both established and new accounts. Our clients all have established brands, and you’ll help them stretch to places they never dreamed possible through your design and production of things like infographics, videos, ebooks, case studies, micro sites, sales playbooks, presentations and more. You will learn and grow every day, and no two projects will be the same.
Responsibilities
- To monitor design workloads, and monitor all schedules to ensure on time delivery
- Act as a design senior, mentor, or idea producer/sounding board for staff designers
- To foster teamwork between design and copy groups
- To participate in brainstorming sessions
- To build or help us identify new design business, and to visit/present to clients
- Support client work through delivery of creative consulting and services
- Develops promotional items for our company
- Develops systems/processes to more effectively integrate design into our service mix
- Ability to provide sound design strategy and suggestions to improve
- Research client markets & read industry publications to learn the industry and stay abreast of interesting information that will enhance our design work, provide added-value to them by being more knowledgeable, and leverage us into new client areas
Skills Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in creative production and management
- Act as a design senior, mentor, or idea producer/sounding board for staff designers
- Must have extensive knowledge of MAC system and related design software including Adobe Creative Cloud, especially InDesign to include hyperlinks, URLs, style sheets and setting up navigation. Also, Quark Express, Photoshop, Illustrator, Word & PowerPoint (and other Microsoft applications), Email, and HTML, Dreamweaver and landing page development. Also must know how to search for and download graphics and photography. For PPT, must be able to create master pages, hyperlinking, URLs, navigation and animations, embedding video, building charts and graphics, creating brand templates
- Must have experience adhering to brand standards, and extending the brand in new and creative ways
- Mastery in best practices for visual design, and be able to recommend strategies to address opportunities
- Must have exceptional communications skills in order to effectively streamline design process
- Must be able to review/assess a project and predict hours/budget for it within a narrow margin of error
- Must have the ability to take content/research data and tell a visual story/design infographics
- Track record of performance meeting/exceeding deadlines and client expectations
- Must be able to actively engage in developing design strategies for mobile platforms
- Must have thorough understanding of multimedia development processes, including software requirements, how to storyboard, produce, and manage outsourced resources
- Experience working in a CMS
- Must be comfortable in a matrixed setting where direction can come from multiple individuals
- Must be flexible, self-motivated and enthusiastic, a “business champion”
