Logistics: 

  • Working hours are Monday to Friday 9am-5pm EST, with occasional additional hours.
  • This position is fully remote, but we have regular required in-person meetings in the Philadelphia/ Wilmington area.
  • The position is temp to hire with a 4-month trial period to make sure we’re a good fit for one another.

Overview:

This is a full-time remote position with periodic in-person sessions for strategy discussions, training, and employee socializing.

We are looking for a talented, energetic, hard-working graphic designer to round out our creative team. You will thrive in our collaborative and fun working environment that consistently produces exceptional work for nationally-known clients. You will expand your knowledge of commercial design and creative techniques using the latest tools and strategies, guided by our experienced creative team. As a designer at DMG you will continue to expand your skills and learn new approaches to solving real-world creative challenges. You will help produce creative solutions that are pivotal to the success of DMG Marketing and its reputation as a creative powerhouse in the financial services industry for over 30 years.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of your project assignments by studying approved statements of work, client creative briefs, style guides, client commentary, prior creative executions, and the competition.
  • Engage and collaborate with the account management team, copywriters, and other creative team colleagues to discuss creative strategy and possible creative solutions to ensure deliverables meet and/or exceed client expectations.
  • Contribute thoughts and ideas for copy and content direction along with assessments of creative efforts.
  • Align your designs within the parameters of brand guidelines and ensure that creative consistency is maintained throughout each campaign.
  • Create effective design layouts for content and set-up design mechanicals.
  • Incorporate client feedback into creative solutions as projects progress through rounds of revisions and changes.
  • Prep files for release to printers or for programming of digital media using the DMG’s written guidelines and on-the-job training and supervision.
  • Handle miscellaneous creative requests including creating icons, searching for appropriate stock images, editing images, and proofreading.
  • Compile decks for new client pitches and update client presentations.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions for large client projects.
  • Create posts for our social media channels.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled “all-hands” virtual status meetings and creative team sessions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, fine arts, or related field. Graduates from portfolio programs are also welcome.
  • In-depth knowledge of InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
  • Knowledge of the following is a plus: Figma, After Effects/animation tools and HTML.
  • 1–2 years of on-the-job experience, including internships. (This would be a great job for someone just getting started with their design career, though all are welcome to apply.)
  • High attention to detail and ability to work quickly and accurately in the face of tight deadlines.
  • Strong work-ethic, even-tempered, and consistently reliable.
  • Self-starter with prompt and diligent attitude toward responsibilities and an aversion to unnecessarily postponing the completion of assigned work.
  • Self-confidence to ask questions to clarify tasks along with resourcefulness to independently find answers when appropriate.
  • Passion for design and typography and awareness of current trends.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team-player with a strong willingness to learn and expand professional skills.
  • Desire to work on a small, highly professional creative team.
  • Self-discipline to work efficiently and effectively in a remote work environment.
  • Professional remote office setup with reliable high-speed internet. (DMG provides employees with MacBook Pros and software.)
  • Primary residence in the Philadelphia/ Wilmington tri-state area due to required periodic in-person meetings.
