This year's conference will focus on how our jobs have evolved and will continue to evolve as we grow and our industry changes. It will be a day of insight and inspiration featuring dynamic and influential creative leaders speaking about design leadership, UX best practices, and more. Emcee: Ryan Starr

Ryan Starr is the Creative Director in the Marketing and Communication Department at Saint Joseph’s University and the host of the graphic design podcast Hi-Res. For the past twenty years, Ryan has been creating solutions for a wide range of clients including XFINITY, Philadelphia Eagles, Villanova University, AARP, Avis/Budget Group and many more. He’s worked in both in-house and agency settings throughout his career. His experience includes branding, identity design, advertising campaigns, print and web design, and video and social media campaigns. Ryan is also the host and creator of Hi-Res, a Philly design podcast where he talks with designers, illustrators and photographers about the experiences that have shaped their careers and influence their work. Opening Keynote: Stephen Gates

Stephen is a global design leader who specializes in building world-class organizations that integrate human-centered design to drive product and service innovation. He is the Head Design Evangelist at InVision where he works as a strategic partner to elevate the business impact of design through education, coaching, and thought leadership with some of the world’s biggest brands. He previously worked at McCann Erickson, Citi and Starwood Hotels building teams that created award-winning global advertising campaigns, multiple Fortune 100 brands, and innovative digital experiences. His work has received over 150 international awards, his app design has been named as one of the World's 100 Greatest Apps, HOW Magazine named him one of the most talented and influential creatives working today, Apple has featured his work in 10 keynotes and more. He shares what he has learned through his speaking engagements and The Crazy One podcast which is an in-depth exploration of issues that matter to creatives including leadership, creativity, career development, innovation and more.

Isabel Sierra y Gómez de León

Isabel Sierra y Gómez de León (Isa for short) is a creative director and artist, currently serving as the Global Head of Creative at Bloomberg LP.

Originally from the beautiful town of Seville, in Southern Spain, she moved to Madrid tostudy Media and Communications at San Pablo CEU University. She went on to complete a Master in Communication Design at the prestigious Central Saint Martins School of Art and Design in London, UK graduating with distinction.

In 2012, she joined the content team at BBC Worldwide, where she worked as a creative forMusic television. At the BBC, she had the opportunity to work with cinema, television and digital titles for artists such as Beyonce, David Bowie and Foo Fighters, among others. She started her career at Bloomberg’s London HQ in 2014, where she worked as the brand’s leading art director covering Europe, the Middle East and Africa. After three productive years working in the international team, she moved to New York in 2017 to lead Bloomberg’s brand and creative efforts across business all the company’s businesses globally.

Creative Director by day, artist by night, Isabel also works developing fine art projects as a photographer. Her work has been exhibited and published internationally.

She currently lives in Manhattan with her wife Hana and cat Michi.

Speaker: Élida Cruz

Élida loves solving problems. She’s spent the last 20+ years motivating people to work together, develop new ideas, and deliver great work – all in the service of solving problems for clients and their customers. As Vice President Head of Commercial and Small Business Design at Capital One, Élida focuses on enhancing customer centricity and the integration of design into operations, culture, the organization overall and drives change through a human centered lens. She leads a team whose scope includes all facets of experience design: design strategy, research, visual, IA, IxD, and front end development. She works in close partnership with bank business partners, product and tech and their teams who are responsible for integrated customer strategy and financial performance.

Élida thrives at the intersection of people leadership, design and business operations. She believes that a smooth-running ship, with a focus on people, provides the best platform to reach and develop ground-breaking customer insights, exceptional client satisfaction, and outstanding products and services.

During her career, Élida has helped some of the best innovation and design firms thrive. Prior to joining Capital One, Élida was the New York studio lead and global strategic operations lead at Fjord. In her tenure at Fjord she also led the global learning organization and ran North American Operations. Prior to joining Fjord Élida led program management and studio operations at frog design. She has also been a program management and operations lead at Razorfish, Organic, and DraftFCB.

When Élida is not leading teams and improving how teams work, she’s chasing after her son Tavo, cooking old family recipes and singing karaoke.

Sylvia Baffour is a Professional Speaker, Trainer and Executive Coach recently ranked by HubSpot among the Top 15 female motivational speakers alongside the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Mel Robbins and Iyanla Vanzant. She is the founder and President of Baffour International LLC, a company helping organizations peak perform with emotional intelligence strategies.
