Cemetery Art Tour

Mount Vernon Cemetery is opening to the public exclusively for AIGA Philadelphia to share its grand monuments shrouded in history and artistic marvels. In two sessions of guided tours with Mike Lewandowski, we’ll explore the craftsmanship and symbolism etched into them spanning the 18th to 21st century. Underneath tendrils of vines and overgrown paths are long forgotten stories and some notable inhabitants. Cameras and sketchbooks are highly recommended for this one. At the end of the tour, we welcome guests to an optional opportunity in helping our volunteers with their clean up efforts to uncover new stories!
