Working from foundations in community organizing, civic psychology, and network theory, Hugh’s work seeks to help individuals and organizations design communities that enhance their work, improve their well-being and expand their possibilities.
In 2019, Hugh traveled to over 40 of AIGA’s chapters to research these communities of design and to better understand how we can collectively serve these communities in the future.
Hugh will share the framework he’s designed which provides immediate action steps for leveraging networks, story, and human insights to create confidence and courage as we work, play and do good.
Creatives, community leaders, entrepreneurs and executives—anyone interested in building community and networks around their work—are welcome to join the conversation!

About the Speaker
Hugh Weber is a community organizer, network theorist, design advocate and creative counsel providing advice to C-Suite Executives and creative professionals as they navigate client challenges, career complexities and uncertain futures.
Hugh is CCO of The Great Discontent, a media company and thriving community committed to celebrating the untold stories of today’s artists, makers and risk-takers. He also serves as Chief Executive Officer of The Institute of Possibility, a community design studio leveraging collective insights, untold stories, and the power of Relationships of Influence to create meaningful connections for organizations and communities with people living, working and thriving within them.
Hugh currently serves on the National Board and Executive Committee for AIGA, the oldest and largest professional organization for design. He is a member of the Advisory Board for Design for America, a national, university-based network of campus studios that harnesses design to co-create local and social impact.
