Job Overview:

The Assistant Director/Project Manager is a key member of the EMSS Communications & MarketingCreative Group serving all constituent groups (Admissions; Drexel Central; Bursar; Registrar; Office of Financial Aid; Student Life; Steinbright Career Development Center; Institutional Research, Assessment & Effectiveness; Academic Information Systems; Enrollment Analytics) within the division of Enrollment Management and Student Success. He/She is responsible for the management of project timelines, material traffic, office structure and process, communication plans, and the management of approval process and shipping throughout the Enrollment Management and Student Success team. In addition, the Assistant Director/Project Manager will support the creative staff with print/web/etc vendor management trafficking specs, proofs and managing production schedules. The Assistant Director/Project Manager will set and manage all meetings and provide agendas/conference reports for all assignments. Basic office manager duties are also required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Three years minimum experience.
  • Experience with:
    • Microsoft project strongly preferred.
    • Microsoft office preferred.
    • Adobe products a plus.
  • Past experience in:
    • Project management in a creative/ communications field required.
    • Working knowledge of print production process required.
    • Interactive project management experience a plus.
    • Agency experience a plus.

Essential Functions:

  • Interact on a daily-basis with EMSS divisional team leaders, academic, and various clients within the institution to provide timely delivery of product. Day-to-day includes seeking approval, organizing content changes, traffic flow, and act as overall knowledge base for project assignments.
  • Work with Executive Director of Communications and Marketing and the Creative Director to ensure deliverables are met, and the overall management of strategic and production vendors.
  • Prepare and manage key office documentation such as Budget To Date, Status Report, Schedules, Publication Requests, Job Jacket documentation and archiving, and creative.
  • Work with internal Project Managers and the team to develop project timelines and drive oversight of key project deliverables to meet project milestones.
  • Collaborate with creative staff to manage production vendors (print/web, etc.), write and traffic specs, and manage production schedules.
  • Recommend and implement new tracking systems that allow tracking projects from beginning to end and deliver on-time materials.
  • Provide best practice process and production guidelines/support for clients via online and print efforts in order to set and maintain expectations.
  • Supervise and manage interns and co-ops.
