Job Description:
This role is responsible for working on a variety of digital design-focused projects and platforms, primarily involved in Hartford Funds’ website design, development, and management.
Responsibilities:
• Design and publish website content using content management system, as well as hand-coded HTML and CSS development. Code and implement javascript-based UI elements and functionality
• Design and build HTML email marketing campaigns, landing pages and other campaign elements following industry standards and best practices
• Execute all visual design stages from concept, wireframes, and mockups through prototyping, development/coding and publishing
• Design persuasive interactive marketing assets as prescribed by creative/marketing briefs
• Coordinate with marketing partners to present and defend designs for creative review
• Partner with copywriting, sales, IT, and other business professionals as needed for specific project objectives
• Promote and ensure design and brand guidelines, best practices, and accessibility standards in all executions
• Contribute to generating creative ideas and strategic concepts with the broader creative team
• Provide Marketing Team with ideas and insights on using current digital trends, techniques, and technologies in projects
Qualifications:
• 3-5 years professional web design experience preferred
• Proficiency with production and design applications in digital and print channels
• Demonstrated proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite as required by the job function
• Proficiency with hand-coding HTML and CSS, editing JavaScript, jQuery, and related technologies
• Knowledge of current web-design trends and techniques including responsive design, user-centered and interaction design. Must possess the ability to challenge conventional design approaches with new tactics and innovative executions
• Familiarity with content management concepts; experience with Adobe Experience Manager or other CMS tool
• Knowledge or proficiency in video production using After Effects/Premiere; and graphic design using InDesign, Illustrator are a plus
• Ability to manage projects efficiently and traffic own workload. Adapts to changing priorities, deadlines and directions
• Must be able to write and speak effectively and be able to clearly communicate with peers, leadership team and clients
• The ability to leverage data and trends in the competitive landscape to produce persuasive design that leverages the best methodology for the goal is required
• Must be able to leverages research and data to drive design executions
• Must listen well and incorporate others viewpoints into the design process
• The ability to maintain accuracy & deliver projects on time despite pressing deadlines is essential

Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition.
The annualized base pay range for this role is: $80,000 – $100,000
