Announcement: We are partnering with Bluecadet and Center for Architecture and Design

The Philadelphia chapter of AIGA, the professional association for design, is proud to announce on-going exhibition partnerships with both Bluecadet (1526 Frankford Avenue, Fishtown) and the Center for Architecture and Design (1218 Arch Street, Philadelphia) for art exhibitions and events during the 2017-2018 calendar year.  These exciting partnerships allow AIGA Philadelphia to showcase visual communication and design by its growing membership, as well as feature influential designers, agencies and informational and educational subjects to the public.

Currently on display at Bluecadet’s ground floor gallery is the iconic Herman Miller Picnic Poster Series by Stephen Frykholm. Hours are Monday-Friday, 10am-6pm, and First Friday receptions, 6-9pm. Established in 2007, Bluecadet is an Emmy Award-winning digital agency that creates world-class websites, mobile apps, interactive installations, and immersive environments.

On view for September at the Center for Architecture and Design is the 35x35Poster Show commemorating the 35th Anniversary of the Philadelphia chapter. Thirty-five influential local designers who have played a significant role in the history of the chapter were invited to create posters. Hours are Monday-Saturday, 10am-6pm.

AIGA Philadelphia will also be participating with several events in the Center’s 13th annual DesignPhiladelphia festival in October. An independent non-profit, the Center for Architecture and Design was founded in 2002 by the Philadelphia chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA Philadelphia). The Center provides Philadelphia with a space and programming to explore architecture, urban planning, and design, allowing visitors the opportunity to understand how these disciplines affect us all in our daily lives.

Previously AIGA Philadelphia hosted monthly exhibits and First Friday receptions at its own gallery, AIGA Philadelphia SPACE in Old City, from April 2012 through December 2015.
