Job Description:
The Creative Director is the strategic and creative lead on the creative services team reporting to the Director of Creative Services. This position is located in Philadelphia, but supports both Philadelphia magazine, Boston magazine and the in-house creative content agency, City/Studio.

The Creative Services team is responsible for maintaining the Philadelphia and Boston magazine brands as well as coming up with unique and engaging solutions for clients. This is a unique role that combines agency-style and brand work through the lens of a modern media company.

This person directs creative brand initiatives and custom projects/programs. This role oversees the entire design arm for creative services, working on, but not limited to, brand and client events, audience development, marketing initiatives, sales materials and client campaigns in both Philadelphia and Boston.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Creative Services Design Department .
  • Manage and lead design for larger client programs
  • Set the standard to brand style guides for Philadelphia and Boston magazines
  • Strategize and brainstorm for internal and external projects and programs

Working closely with the Marketing, Events, Operations and Audience Departments to execute projects for brand initiatives, events, client projects and promotional campaigns. Items include but are not limited to:

  • Digital banner ads, email blasts, social media, microsite design, event branding, in-book content sections, advertorials
  • Templates for sales materials and presentations
  • High-level mock-ups for larger sales and City/Studio proposals
  • Execution for client campaigns and programs
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, take direction, work independently and adhere to quick-turn around deadlines

Qualifications

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, take direction, work independently and adhere to quick-turn around deadlines
  • 5-7 years’ experience at a magazine, agency or in a marketing design role
  • HTML and CSS is a plus but not required
  • Must have led or managed design team
