Job Description:
Pixel Parlor is in search of a mid-to-senior level environmental graphic designer to help with EGD, wayfinding, and signage for hospitality, not-for-profit, universities, cultural institutions, and branded workplace. This includes graphic walls, code signage, interior and exterior signage, displays, donor walls, monuments, etc. In addition, the environmental graphic designer will work alongside the print and interactive teams to create original identities, branding, print design, social media and online advertising for a wide range of creatively engaging clients.

The ideal candidate should possess the desire to make an impact in a friendly, and highly creative environment, the capability to communicate effectively with clients and collaborators, the flexibility to respond proactively to constructive criticism, the insight to create organized materials and deliver a high-quality product to the client and end-user.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple projects with a variety of clients from concept through production, installation, and punch listing
  • Develop thoughtful, pragmatic design solutions for a variety of media, and audiences
  • Collaborate with studio partners and management on all aspects of design and production
  • Manage day-to-day client relationships, edits, and changes
  • Attending site visits, walkthroughs, and fabrication checks
  • Managing a team of installers while installing a project
  • Maintaining punch list documents and coordinating follow up until 100% completion is accomplished
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design
  • 4+ years experience in design and EGD
  • A highly developed portfolio demonstrating EGD, branding, and print design
  • A strong sense of typography
  • An illustrative approach to design and color
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Must be comfortable presenting and receiving critique
  • Self-motivated
  • Problem solver
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Highly skilled at reading architectural plans and elevations
  • Understands how to work in scale in CAD Tools
  • Is an expert in specifying materials and facilitating the production process with fabricators
  • Has general knowledge of code signage and requirements
  • Expert Adobe Creative Cloud user
