Job Description: Are you a reader who appreciates great design just as much as a great story? Are you interested in beginning a design career that aims to share awesome books through eye-catching advertising, promotion, and social media content? If so, Quirk Books is seeking highly creative entry level candidates for a Digital Marketing Design Assistant position. As a member of our Sales, Marketing, and Publicity group, the Digital Marketing Design Assistant is managed by the Assistant Digital Marketing Manager with creative oversight from the Art Director, and will be responsible for creating sales and marketing materials that match the creativity and design-forward nature of our books and the Quirk brand.
Responsibilities: • Collaborating with the Sales, Marketing, and Publicity group to brainstorm visual web content and promotional materials • Conceptualizing and designing digital and print ad campaigns as well as promotional assets, including but not limited to animated GIFs, videos, sell sheets, tote bags, social media images, and newsletter and website assets. • Creating product shots and lifestyle images using Photoshop. • Providing design support for industry trade shows and consumer conventions, including signage and digital assets • Working closely with Quirk’s Marketing team, Production team, Design team, and copy editors to incorporate feedback and polish designs ahead of deployment or delivery to vendors • Staying on top of marketing news and design trends and sharing knowledge with the Sales, Marketing, and Publicity group
Qualifications: Please apply if the following sounds like you: • A fan of books and reading with a portfolio of recent work that demonstrates required skills and abilities • Highly proficient in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator • Knowledge of animation (Adobe After Effects) and video editing (Adobe Premiere) • Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and email design • Photography skills a plus • Illustration abilities a plus • Ability to receive and synthesize constructive feedback • Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills • A creative problem solver and effective communicator with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
