As a graphic design intern, this individual will have the opportunity to grow his or her design skills working on a variety of print and digital projects. This individual will deliver graphic design content as an individual contributor in support of project goals. Under the guidance of the Marketing team, the intern’s key roles and responsibilities will include:

Create graphic design concepts based on CLSI branding principles.
Design product layout based on branding templates.
Assist with designing promotional collateral for CLSI products and programs.
Assist with designing templates for standards publications.
Ensure product design completion in coordination with the design specialist and/or marketing manager.
Ensure brand consistency across all organizational communications, products, and programs.

Details

Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student with a design-related major.
Candidates may be asked to work up to 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

Diligent, detail-oriented, and able to follow directions well.
Able to communicate effectively through writing and visual design.
Able to think “outside the box” and express ideas creatively.
Understands graphic design principles, layout, composition, and color theory.
Needs to understand how to: apply master pages, paragraph styles, and character styles; follow a preset template; and use a digital library.
Performs other duties as required by management.

Qualifications

Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student with a design-related major.
Working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite including Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Dreamweaver.
Must have InDesign layout skills.
Strong computer skills. Experience with the Microsoft Office suite of products is required.
Strong communication skills, flexible, and team-oriented.
Reliable and hard-working.
Experience with WordPress is a plus.
Experience with HTML, CSS, is a plus.
