AIGA Philadelphia’s “This is My Philly” Writing and Collage Workshop

Philadelphia, PA—AIGA Philadelphia and SPELLS Writing Lab are pleased to announce the 5th Annual This is My Philly event, celebrating the special neighborhoods of our city. Children ages 8-13 from city schools will have the opportunity to work with professionally trained creatives in a college setting. Spells Writing Lab volunteers and graphic design students from area colleges will work with the children to put their feelings about Philadelphia on paper, creating a collage and supporting poem expressing their love for Philly.

About AIGA Philadelphia
Founded in 1914, AIGA remains the oldest and largest professional membership organization for design, with 66 chapters and more than 22,000 members nationwide. AIGA Philadelphia, the first local chapter, was established in 1981. We represent a variety of professions under the umbrella of communication design, ranging from book and type design to interactive design and experience design. Our annual roster of programs includes lectures, exhibitions, workshops, which both enrich the community (through our new headquarters in Old City, aptly called SPACE) and benefit our local membership of over 600 design professionals, educators and students. AIGA’s mission is to advance designing as a professional craft, strategic tool and vital cultural force.
When you are a member of AIGA, you are part of a network that increases design’s influence and expands opportunities for designers in our community and worldwide. AIGA is a volunteer membership organization that exists to enable its members to develop programs and to advocate positions, most of which occur only through the energy and effort of volunteer members.
