Position: Graphic Designer – Entry Level

Job Description:
The Package Designer provides creative deliverables for licensed and non-licensed product and packaging. Executions include concept renders, end-to-end packaging design, creation of sample and food labeling applications. Previous branding and packaging experience is required. Projects consists of revolving stages, success depends effective and timely communication. Reports to the Creative Services Manager and works closely with other key personnel.
Daily Functions:
- Designs generic and licensed concepts and product and packaging materials.
- Works within Frankford, Brand and Licensor style guides while maintaining unity in lines.
- Some comping required.
- Presents artwork for internal review and submits into Licensor workflow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understands creative and production workflows.
- Understanding of packaging structures, materials, and production processes.
- Anticipates next steps for projects.
- Proofs work for Licensor, Frankford and FDA requirements prior to presenting for approval.
- Applies legal lines, warnings, Nutritional and UPC information to FDA standard.
- Effectively communicates schedule conflicts to Traffic Manager.
- Prepares files for release to prepress and samples and production.
- 5 days on site to start. Moving to 3 days on site weekly when properly trained, adding in-office days as needed to complete assignments.
Qualifications:
- Must have food packaging experience. Do not apply without such examples in your portfolio.
- Brand and Entertainment property experience is preferred.
- 40h week; 7/5 -12/1 approximate dates.
- 5 days on site to start; tapering off to 3 on-site days when ready/schedule allows.
- Potential to start now at a reduced week of 3 days for training through August, moving into a 40h week at that time.
- Preferably the candidate has their own machine.
Benefits and Salary:
Fridays workdays end at 3:30 30-35/h
