Job Description:
Pixel Parlor is a multi-disciplinary design studio in Fishtown, Philadelphia that seeks to work with mission-based clients who strive to make a positive impact on the environment, social initiatives, and business.Our studio is in search of an interactive designer to help with a variety of complex, visually compelling, websites and interactive media for a wide range of clients. The ideal candidate should possess the desire to make an impact in a highly creative environment and work both independently and within a close-knit team. The interactive designer will possess the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clients and collaborators, the vision to create organized materials, and the capacity to deliver a high-quality product to both the client and end-user.
Responsibilities:
- Website visual comps (desktop & mobile)
- Design of digital assets (advertisements, apps, social)
- IA: Site mapping, wireframing, problem solving
- UX: Personas, user paths, testing
- Creating visioning and digital road map documents
- Identifying and determining technical requirements
- Minor website updates
- Squarespace production
- Interactive website user manuals
- Client interaction via presentations, emails and phone
- Occasional writing and editing of content
- Creating Google Docs for content blueprints and templates
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in interactive design or graphic design
- 3-5 years experience in interactive design
- A highly developed portfolio
- A strong sense of typography
- An illustrative approach to design and color
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to manage the demands of working on multiple projects at the same time
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Ability to work both independently and within a team
- Comfortable presenting and receiving critique
- Experience in all aspects of Adobe Creative Cloud
- WordPress experience
- Passion for implementing industry best practices
- An intuitive understanding of IA/UX
- Comfortable with video and audio integration
- Understanding of HTML + CSS
- Experience working with developers
- Motion design and video editing is a bonus
