Philly Photo Day 2013

On Friday, October 18th, Philadelphia Photo Arts Center (PPAC) and the entire city will celebrate Philly Photo Day 2013! On that day, everyone in the city is invited to take a photograph and submit it to be included in a vast exhibition, featuring thousands of images to create an immense portrait of Philadelphia. Every photograph submitted will be printed and displayed in the exhibition from November 14th – December 28th.

To participate, take a picture on October 18th, 2013, select your favorite one then visit www.philaphotoarts.org to submit one photograph online for exhibition.

The final exhibition will present thousands of diverse interpretations of Philadelphia and will take place from November 14 – December 28, 2013.

As a part of the exhibition, PPAC will produce as many as 60 works of public art! Teaching artists will collaborate with community center participants to design up to 20 of the city’s first digitally produced photo murals in conjunction the city’s Mural Arts Program. An additional 40 images will be selected and placed on billboards for the month of December.

Support for this event is generously provided by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation as part of its Knight Arts Challenge and by PNC Arts Alive!

The Billboard and Mural portion of Philly Photo Day is made possible in partnership with Mural Arts and Clear Channel.
