The production artists work alongside the designers, writers and creative directors to tackle layout design, photo retouching, mechanical file prep, asset requests and more. Ideal candidates for this role are organized, efficient, creative problem solvers with excellent technical skills and a strong design sensibility.

Skills:

Comprehensive understanding of graphic design, typography and production with technical proficiency using the current (Mac) versions of InDesign, Photoshop & Illustrator
Photo retouching and manipulation
Deep understanding of mechanical file preparations and pre-press production
Experience across different mediums such as print, packaging, large format graphics and digital
Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while remaining detail-oriented and organized
Possess eye for design, good taste and judgment

Responsibilities:

Collaborate closely with design team on a variety of projects, which includes implementing designs & ideas
Working within approved concepts & brand guidelines
Layout design, photo retouching, asset management
Creating specs for projects (paper, printing techniques, binding, etc)
Confidence in all pre-flight / printer prep processes and ability to make recommendations to produce our best work
Troubleshoot problems
Work intelligently with print vendors and demonstrate a masterful understanding of how work is produced

Characteristics and Qualifications:

Self-disciplined and possessed of a cool head
Pride in attention to detail, file organization, efficiency and error-free work
A love for learning, creative thinking and problem solving
Recognition that hard work is part of the job
3-5+ years experience in graphic design and/or production design
Bachelor’s degree or more in Graphic Design or related field, or equivalent work experience
